Time for some harriers
I love watching harriers migrate. Of all of the raptors they have the most-bouyant flight. Additionally when seen well you can identify males, females and juveniles. This is a juvenile harrier. Spruce Grouse
We had several friends visiting Whitefish Point, here to see birds. After breakfast we all got into one car and headed off to an area where Spruce Grouse are common. None of us were disappointed. A day filled with eagles
Bald Eagles are an every day occurrence at Whitefish Point. But seeing over twenty in a day, mostly migrating is a special day. This is a bird molting from third year to fourth year plumage. Accidental nature walk in Ann Arbor
This morning as we were walking to meet a friend for breakfast. we managed to find a lot of flowering plants and other stuff. Evergreen bagworm cocoons in some evergreen shrubs. A flowering Norway maple. A flowering Bartlett’s pear. Flowering serviceberry. Flowering purple dead nettle, the final flower of the morning. More tomorrow…
