El Niño effects this winter

A big question is how will the current strong El Niño affect the weather this winter. NOAA has released it’s predictions

Currently is looks like Michigan drier and warmer that a typical winter, whatever that is considering the global climate change fluctuations that we have been experienceing for years.

Another prediction for the winter, that is quite similar

It appears that the south-eastern states are wetter this year, as is California.

Regardless, it’s a cool and windy morning in Ann Arbor. By tonight it should be dipping into the upper to mid 30sF. Fortunately, with the exception of butternut squash the garden is empty. Today we’ll be getting the last of the cilantro and some mint for making sauces (my recipe calls it a chutney). I’ll also be making a jalapeño sauce of jalapeños, cayenne and serrano peppers with garlic. Both of the sauces will be frozen in small containers for use over the next year.

More later…
