Fallout photos from day-2

As is typical of a fallout of birds it doesn’t end with just one day. On the second day I managed to get out with a camera and actually take photos.

Nothing quite like a warbler coming to your suet feeder. This is a Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler.

It was nice finding a male Black-throated Blue Warbler who was posing in the lichens.

Cape May Warblers were everywhere.

I was following an elfin (butterfly) when this male Bay-breasted Warbler shot out of a low branch to snatch it. The warbler them proceeded to hunt the lichens for insects.

But there weren’t just warblers around. Here’s a Savannah Sparrow on the beach.

Least Flycatchers were hunting insects from low branches in the jack pines.

Willets were on the shore, but with them was a much more unusual bird…

It’s always exciting to see a Marbled Godwit.

The prize of the day was seeing a LeConte’s Sparrow that our friend Sean helped us find.

More tomorrow…

  1. Amazing sightings! So beautiful to see these birds. I expect the weather will improve soon, maybe today? Thank you for sharing with us. I have never seen a fallout.
