Two mornings ago was day one of an amazing fallout of birds at Whitefish Point. It was calm, but a slight breeze from the south and foggy. As happens on those days if you want to find as many of the birds as possible there’s little time to photograph them. Thus, most of the photos are from the past.

There were American Redstartsm both males and females.

Bay-breasted Warbler and Black-throated Green Warbler.

Blackburnian Warbler and Cape May Warbler (which were abundant).

Chestnut-sided Warbler and Common Yellowthroat.

Magnolia Warbler and Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler.

Northern Parula and Orange-crowned Warbler

Ovenbird and Palm Warbler.

Pine Warbler and Tennessee Warbler.

Hermit Thrush and Swainson’s Thrush, not to leave the thrushes out.
Were there other birds, oh yeah – shorebirds, sparrows, raptors and more. The highlight for people that were there early enough was the Thick-billed Longspur.
Tomorrow day-2 of the fallout with photos from the day.
Spectacular. My highlight was sighting my first male Indigo bunting this morning g, around a rhododendron bush! Merlin identified its call and I saw it– heavenly!
