Inching towards Spring

The progress is slow, but speeds up with warmth and rain, day by day there is less snow and more to see.

The same view of the restoration area, each photo is 24 hours after the previous. So, Monday on the left, Tuesday in the center and Wednesday on the right. As I said we’re inching our way into spring.

Susan and Sarah talking about the dune restoration site.

Yesterday there were a few new birds – American Woodcock and Hermit Thrush. The hawk flight was decent in the early afternoon, and there were a few Sandhill Cranes heading north.

So far today it is overcast with a cold misty fog. It’s funny how different 30F can feel. Two days ago with sun it was warn, yesterday with overcast conditions it was comfortable and today with some breeze and 100% humidity it’s cold. It’s all something you get used to here.

More later…

  1. At least some places are cool still. In upstate NY yesterday and Tues, it was 87 to 88 at 5pm!!! Horrific premature heat. I’d better get used to this.
