Changing seasons

Sometimes a cartoon, in this instance BC, really nails my feelings about a season. Fall and Spring, at least for me, are seasons of changing scents and colors. In the spring the new green leaves appear and the scent of the soil being warmed by the sun is exciting. The same, although in reverse can be said about the Fall. The leaves that were once green are now browns, reds, yellows and orange. The scents are of apples, pears and the late season vegetables.

I think that Susan wants to make more apple sauce. That means another trip to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market and then the house smelling of cooking apples – which is delightful. Then there’s the benefit of having canned apple sauce thought the next year. While she does that I’ll do a variety of things around the house – light stuff, nothing to further irritate my shoulder.

Until later…
