Someone asked me about cameras the other day, so I thought I’d write a blog about the one that I use most of the time. It’s a Nikon Coolpix P900.

Here’s the camers. It not heavy and allows me to go from macro to zoom.

Here’s where I watch migrating birds from on the deck. This is the wide angle setting. See the birds in the tree, let’s zoom in on them.

It turns out that these are eight Turkey Vultures. Now let’s get a better look at one of them, so I’ll zoom in some more.

Here we are, all done with a built in zoom. But wait there’s a moth on the wall, under the light – time for the macro setting, without changing lenses.

Here’s a Scribbler (moth) that I was 4 inches from.
Not bad for a single camera with built in lens. The approximate cost was about US$1000.
Tomorrow, the first morning of moth season.
