Dealing with nature

This morning the B.C. comic was so appropriate. Last night after planting the garden there was a frost warning. Susan quickly got the plants covered. Since we’re leaving today to go north when we uncover the plants they will be “on their own” for a while.

This morning it was 36F when I got up, so no frost. Plants will be uncovered the basil and squash planted and at some point we will leave.

More later…

  1. Yes my father always said that for upstate NY you’re not safe till Memorial Day. In the last decade it seems we are now 2 weeks earlier to start the growing season. I remember buying them quite a few waxy begonia hanging plants before Memorial Day one year and nearly all died in a frost. It was just too early. I’ll bet you’ll be safe though, good luck.
