It’s time to think about what’s going into our garden this year sice we will be planting it this week.

Three of the beds are ready for planting. One bed, the lower right one still needs mint removed. The two rows with stuff already growing are our garlic beds. Once the garlic comes out we’ll be planting pole beans in those. The bed furthest right had herbs in it and is pretty much on it’s own.

Yesterday we went to Hilltop Nursery and got plants – cherry tomatoes (salads), beefsteak tomatoes (sandwiches) and roma tomatoes (sauces). We also got rosemary to add to the herb bed. Then there are hot peppers – jalapeños, habaneros and serrano peppers. We also got kale, zucchini and butternut squash. This morning we got a pot of basil that will be separated into 5-6 plants and planted between tomato plants. Additionally, we got marigolds that will be planted throughout the beds. Between the herbs, mint and marigolds we don’t have a problem with pest mammals.
I’ll update news on the garden in3-4 weeks when things have settled in.
More later…
Wow, sounds just terrific. All I am having this year is herbs. So far basil, mint, dill, cilantro, parsely and sage. Happy planting!
