Back to Paradise

Heading back to Whitefish Point today we crossed the Mackinac Bridge as we have done close to a thousand times. But this time was quite different. Both lanes on the north-bound side were closed and being resurfaced. Therefore we crossed north on the south-bound side.

It’s rather strange crossing the bridge next to a truck heading the opposite direction.

We made it into the Upper Peninsula where it was 38F and raining.

By the time we reached the Tahquamenon River it was clear and 45F.

Looking out over the dune outside of the cabin it’s hard to believe that it’s early April, especially when Marquette, some four hours west recently had several feet of snow.

Tomorrow I’ll start looking for migrating birds.

More then.
