Moth night at Island Park, Ann Arbor

Our day started with the new moth trap set up. We got some moths and lost of aquatic insects. We had a spectacular dinner. Susan made falafel and we got tuum, humus, pita at El Harissa. A night filled with moths

We’re back at Whitefish Point which means some serious mothing! Getting up in the morning to between two and three hundred moths resulted in hours of photographing and identifying moths. Moths in Ann Arbor

Susan got permission to put up moth sheets and lights. The results were amazing. I wonder what the morning will be like. Not everything that comesContinue reading “Day-21: A great night with moths”

Day-15: Smyrna Dunes

Managed to great great photos of an Abbot’s bagworm moth coccoon. on a palm frond. It’s hard for me to pass up the opportunity at getting a great photo of a Turkey Vulture. Somehow, I thought that this Loggerhead Shrike was going to be the highlight of the day for me. We were close toContinue reading “Day-15: Smyrna Dunes”
