It’s going to be an interesting November

This is an X-ray of my right shoulder. I no longer have any cartilage in the shoulder joint. This is probably a result of having a seizure disorder and falling to my right several hundred times. As a result I have had shoulder pain for years. So in November I will have a shoulder replacement. This will be followed by two weeks in a sling with minimal use of my right hand. Therefore I won’t be doing much writing or typing. I am also building up a group of books to read while I am somewhat immobile. Currently I have a small stack of books including three by Stewart McLean. His show Vinyl Café was on CBC radio and we listened to it weekly.

I also have several books by Terry Pratchet, two by Margaret George (Helen of Troy & The Memoirs of Cleopatra). There are also several “Phoul” novels by Robert Asprin.

More on that in the future. The rest of October should be rather “normal,” whatever that means.

More later…

  1. Hi Mike, Rest and heal after your surgery. Life will be so much better for you. I’m 4 weeks post total hip replacement and the joint pain was gone immediately but still have muscle soreness. I ask myself why I didn’t have the surgery done sooner, most likely because of the timing. Keep us updated. Su
