Yesterday we took Mike and Deb to the Upper Falls at Tahquamenon Falls State Park. It was a beautiful morning to be there. I’m really glad that we went early in the day. After seeing the falls we ate at Camp 33 where we easily were seated. When we left after lunch there was no parking and a line to get into the park.

Color change is starting to hit peak and the falls as always was spectacular.

The new ramp at the Upper Fall, while longer than the old stairs allows people in wheel chairs, walkers or with strollers to get down close to the falls. I talked to an older man in a wheel chair who said he had never been able to get down the stairs in the past and that while this was still a lot of work, especially coming back he enjoyed the ramp access. There are about six “switch-backs” with benches on the way, so there is plenty of opportunity to sit and rest on the way up.
