I’m always looking for something fanciful to read. Recently we were at a local bookstore and I saw these two books. I read the first few pages and decided to give them a try. Well – for me these really worked.
The basic storyline is about Hanna, who is hired as the assistant to the owner of an art gallery. What follows is absolute insanity, and I mean that in a good way.
Werewolves, nereids, vampires and more. The stories go from insane to logical to loving and even sexual. Characters grow within each book, amore in the next.
There are at least three more books in this series, so I am looking forward to these in the future.
Cynthia St. Aubrey has also written a ten book series about a paranormal psychologist.
Personally, I enjoy finding an author that writes decent fantasy – and so far her books fill that need.
Before starting these, each of which took 2-4 days to read, I read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. I got his book from my friend Steve. I’m a real fan of Bourdain and miss seeing him on TV.

“Adventures in the culinary underbelly” is an understatement. It’s the story about becoming and being a chef, kitchen workers, kitchen dynamics and the restaurant industry. It was minimally about food. This was another book that was a fun read.
Next on my reading list are two or three completely different books. More on those later.
Now on to “The Bookstore Below” by Georgia Summers.
More later, who knows what about since we are heading south to visit friends and escape late winter in Michigan.
Interesting books. Safe travels.
