Our second full day back in Ann Arbor and it’s time to get out shopping – for suet for the birds! So we’re walking down to Knight’s Market. But, who knows what we’ll find on the way?

The best place in town to get suet, and lots of other stuff as well, like Italian sausage-broccolini ravioli for dinner tonight.

Ann Arbor has a lot of Free Little Libraries, but on Spring Street on the way home we found a free little poetry box entitled” Take a poem, leave a poem. This was the one that was visible.
But as anybody who knows me it’s not just about walking, shopping and seeing things. There’s nature wherever we go.

The first moth of the year! An evergreen bagworm moth cocoon.
We also had a paw-paw (a tree with edible fruit, unless you’re like me who gets violently ill from eating them) and a purple beautyberry, a beautiful shrub that I had only known from Florida. It’s the first I’ve ever seen in the north.
More later…
Beautiful moth cocoon. Great poem. Welcome back!
