Eugene: Day-9

Yesterday was our last day at Yachats. We went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium but we got to Newport too early so spent an hour at Nye Beach.

We parked next to this business and I thought to myself “That’s an Italian business, it has to be.”

Sure enough it was an Italian Restaurant.

Among the many highlights at the aquarium was an octopus that was quite active.

There was a tank full of interesting eels.

Two more from the same tank.

I really like the corals and coral reef fish.

Trying to photograph fish with my camera was more difficult than with my phone.

The colors were amazing.

The jellyfish were perhaps the closing highlight before getting a late lunch and heading back to Eugene.

More tomorrow…

  1. Oh beautiful aquarium photos! My favorite aquarium is the New England Aquarium in Boston, but I also remember the sea of kelp at the Monterrey Aquarium. Aquariums are the best! And the symbol on the door you should says it all, gabiche? (My mother’s family was Italian).
