Yesterday was, as is usual here a full day. Susan and I took a long walk in the morning. I concentrated on photographing lichens and some mosses. But there are always birds and other things to distract us.

It’s always fun to see large clocks of Cackling Geese pass over giving their distinct calls making it quite easy to differentiate them from the similar but much larger Canada Geese.

It’s always nice finding mosses with fruiting bodies making them easier bur still difficult to identify.

We found this witches butter, a fungus the other day. Yesterday I managed to get a better photo. We had told Oscar about finding it and his first comment was “They come in yellow, orange and black.” He is the fungus prince!
In the evening it was time for a game.

We started playing Clank! last December. There are eleven rounds before the game is done. It is a forever evolving game. Every round starts in the same space, but the board has changed with new stickers covering older spaces with new hazards being added. It’s an interesting game concept. After the eleventh game it’s over and you cannot play it again, as cards get destroyed and the new stickers are not removable. Each round takes 2-3 hours , so ultimately you get about 30 hours of gaming and all of the tokens and game pieces for the cost of the game.
Later this morning we’re heading to Yachats where we’ll spend two nights with a view of the ocean.
More tomorrow…
Geese, the ocean, mosses, fungi and CLank! What could be better? Enjoy.
