Getting the garden ready for winter

Most of the plants are out. We got 8-9 butternut squash in recently and the kale will go all winter.

The last of the herbs are in, mostly rosemary and thyme, although thyme is still going strong. I’ve left the rosemary in the ground and covered with leaves and a large pot. If it makes it good, if not it’s no big loss.

The figs are mulched and covered. This year was the first year that I got figs, and they were wonderful.

The beds all have composted cow manure and shredded maple leaves covering them.

The hose has been drained and everything is ready for the long winter nap.

More later.
