On the last day of September, 2025 Amanda brought a large shipment of plants arrived at Whitefish Point. Since then Susan had been working 8-10 hours a day planting. The first day Amanda was there as well as friends at Whitefish Point. The second day however was after the government shutdown sadly.

Lynn helped both days, as well as Kurt. On the second day Frank also helped after he was done counting waterfowl for MAS. All-in-all over two days 30 large flats of plants went ito the habitat restoration area. she’ll see what happens over the next few days as we’ll be back in Ann Arbor where I’ll be getting ready for my trip to Brazil.

Yesterday Jane Goodall died. She started her work with chimpanzees in 1960. I had my first anthropology class in 1969. I learned about Dr. Leakey and his students who ultimately went on to greater things that he did, which as a mentor is exactly what you want to see. Seeing and reading about Goodall was beyond exciting, especially when taking Primatology and Primate behavior. It was as though I was watching history unfold as I was learning it.
