Perhaps one of my favorite Roman quotes, as well as my approach to life.

One of the book shelves that is next to the front door entering our house. Fiction, genealogy and old photographs, and natural history. As with any personal library this reflects the owner.

But there is so much more. this shelf is mostly books about some of my favorite artists.

And who, besides me, doesn;t have a shelf dedicated mostly to diseases.
Now, on to the garden –

Tomatoes are thriving, enjoying the heat and weekly rain. I imagine that later in August we will once again be swimming in tomatoes.

Two of our six kale plants that will keep us in greens into winter.

And finally one of the two rows of green bean plants that will provide us with fresh green beans and some to pickle for weeks.
More later…
What a gorgeous library! This is what I had hoped for for my husband Don in our basement; I emailed this to him and he is jealous! Beautiful, beautiful garden too! Thank you , Mary Ann Hitt
