We spent our anniversary driving a favorite road looking for birds and heading to the Dancing Crane for lunch treats.

One of the many creeks that we crossed which are all nice for birds.

Susan spotted a ragged fringed orchid at one of the places that we stopped.

A close-up of the ragged fringed orchid.

Here we are at Naomikong Overlook. This is what being married and chasing birds for 38 years looks like.
We got to Brimley around noon and were disappointed to see that the Dancing Crane was closed and for sale. We learned that the owners are getting divorced, which is so sad since they are both nice people.
I’ve was thinking about all of the places that we used to eat in and near Paradise. This includes The Yukon Inn, The Berry Patch, Silver Creek Grill & Pub and the Dancing Crane. All of these are closed. I guess that things change, each for a different reason.
So for dinner we went to the Wheelhouse and Goatlocker. They opened a few years ago, survived the pandemic and is now the only open place to eat in Paradise all year. As old places disappear, new ones appear.
More later…
Happy Anniversary! WFPO is like coming home. Don and I stayed in the lighthouse when we were there in March 2011. And Paradise is, well, Paradise! Thank you for sharing. Also loved the photos of those herbs in your garden, Im envious! Mary Ann Hitt
