Back at Whitefish Point

We got to our home away from home yesterday afternoon. It’s beautiful, sunny and cool. The high yesterday was 39F. However, there is still a lot of snow. While this view of Whitefish Point Road doesn’t show it well, the base is about 2-3 feet.

Here we are at the intersection of Sandy Lane and Whitefish Point Road. Granted the snow plows have built it much higher here. But last year we had bare ground at the same time. Most of the Upper Peninsula had 20-30 feet of snow this winter. In the Keewenaw it was over 30 feet. When this all melts the water table will be fully renewed.

Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll have some bird photos for the blog.

Until then…
