This, that and who knows what else

Needless to say, the past two weeks have been interesting, albeit strange. Measles outbreaks, bird flu, odd governmental changes. Here are a few things that got my attention.

It’s obvious that in Washtenaw County, Michigan influenza is raging. I’m glad that we got out flu shots in September. The numbers above might not seem large – but close to 50 people in hospital, the most recent number a week is a lot. So, be careful out there.

Here are the starts for the first week since USAID funding was suspended. How much has the global impact of USAID has been disrupted? Frankly, it’s a lot.

So, DT seems to not be cognizant of reality. Russia, on the other hand has a track record of invading.

OK, this is silly, but still worth thinking about.

And finally…

With the dinosaurs running the country I thought it was important to look at the structure of a predatory dinosaur brain. Politics aside, this is pretty nice.

More later…

  1. Not sure that’s the best solution. Europe is in flux right now too. I’ve considered moving to Canada, where my mother was born, but can fight the better fight here.
