
November is when we start burning wood in our stove. We’ll see how well I did spliting kindling and smaller pieces to get the fires going and how long it will last. So far it’s looking like we might be set for the Winter and Spring.


What a difference a year makes. The photo on the right shows the waterbird shack that was taken out during a big storm last November. From where the photo was taken it was over 300 yards to the tip of the point. The photo on the left is from yesterday and was taken from the same spot. The distance to Lake Superior is now 40 yards.
I imagine that come next April the point will be near what it is now, give or take a few yards. What’s nice to see is the build up of cobble which helps add stability to the beach.
