Sadly, the garden is done for the year, with the exception of herbs. Each garden got a layer of composted cow manure, then composted soil from our bins at the back fence. I am always amazed at the amount of soil that we get from composting non-weed garden waste and kitchen scraps. We must get 8+ bushels twice a year. Weedy garden waste goes into the brown compost bin that the city supplies. After the compost the beds get a thick layer of shredded leaves. While this sounds like a lot of work considering that we get 4 months of tomatoes, green beans and hot peppers as well as all of the canned goods (tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, pickled green beans, green tomato chutney and more) it’s a worthwhile investment. Additionally, I have enough dried herbs and peppers for the next year.
Now on to the neighborhood skeletons.

Let’s start with the skeletons at the nearest cannabis shop.

Skeletons are starting to emerge from the new graves.

Perhaps my favorite yard is this one with a skeleton baseball game.

A skeleton family hanging out with their pets.

He warned them to stay off the lawn!
