Birdathon at Whitefish Point.

Well, as expected the day started out drizzly and with mist until about noon. The number and variety of birds was lower than the day before. But we managed about 135 species with about a dozen observers. Money raised with this effort will go to supporting the Whitefish Point Bird Observatory.

In the course of the day, considering the weather I didn’t take a lot of photos. But did manage a few.

A Cedar Waxwing taken with my phone. This was the most common bird of the day for me. Small flocks of 20-40 passed all morning.

Sharp-shinned Hawk perusing feeders. Needless to say, all of the birds scattered with the sharpier appeared.

One of the young Bald Eagles that passed by in the afternoon.

Tomorrow, moths at Whitefish Point…
