The perfect habitat for lots of lichens and mosses

Oaks in the fog at Mt. Pisgah.

Oregon white oak with mistletoe at Mt. Pisgah.

Trees “dripping” with Usnea lichens.

A gift from Alexis who knows that I love lichens.

The pale one is perhaps hammered shield lichen. At this time I do not know the other two in this photo

Oakmoss lichen on the left, fishnet lichen on the right.

This is a lichen that I know, but the name is escaping me at the moment.

Oakmoss lichen and several Usnea species.

Oakmoss lichen dominates on the trees near where Alexis lives.

Pincushion moss.

Unidentified moss

Feathery moss.

Moss on a rock.

A final moss.
Obviously, I need to do a lot of work on mosses, as well as lichens but I am more familiar with lichens and have the best reference for US and Canadian lichens back in Ann Arbor.
More tomorrow…
