The first “real” snow of the fall

We are not put off by the cold and snow of winter. I guess that’s why we enjoy traveling to the Upper Peninsula in December and January.

Well, the first real snow has arrived. It’s not “very cold” some 17F as I sit here writing. There is something that pleases me when I look at the garden and see it covered with snow. It’s like the garden is sleeping under a white blanket.

I am also happy to see the kale plants looking like small green trees topped with a dusting of snow.

Snowmen have appeared within a block of our house. It was a fun day for walking in the neighborhood.

Sid and Hava have their Christmas tree, penguins and menorah up.

A favorite from down the street is the “Happy Llamakkah!”

We had never seen this Christmas stegosaurus before. I imagine that was what it was like the first winter after the K-T event 65 million years ago.

Penguins hugging a snowman.

And finally some Euonymus fruits under branches covered with snow.

More tomorrow…

  1. Just to prove I actually look at and enjoy these… are you sure on the Euonymus? It looks like Japanese Barberry to me … 🙂 Ron G.
