Back in sunny Ann Arbor after a delightful week traveling to Toronto then Ithaca, New York. The last of the leaves on trees here are turning colors and dropping. We did notice some interesting things with tree while traveling.

We were amazed at the number of ginkgos that we encountered on our travels. More surprising were finding female ginkgos. The fruit of the ginkgo are quite unpleasant aromatically. Equally surprising were the number of ginkgos in Ithaca there were 3-4 stories tall. They must bee quite old. And as with ginkgos in Michigan they all tended to drop their leaves over a few days.

The place that we stayed in Ithaca had a white mulberry tree in the driveway. On our first or second night there most of the leaves fell, which was interesting.
More tomorrow from Toronto.
Were you in Ithaca for Cornell ? Thatâs where I wanted to go to college. Sandy / Solopiggy

Yes we were invited to a meeting at Cornel for people who study or work with moths. I’ll be writing about that in a few days.
