Just home from Oaxaca

Just home after ten wonderful day in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. This was a Washtenaw Audubon Society sponsored trip that my friend Bryn put together. It’s not often that I can go to Mexico and add over 60 birds to my Mexican list of birds which is now over 660. Some of the birds were even new to me.

Here’s the group at the ruins at Monte Alban, just outside of the city of Oaxaca. From left to right – Mike 1, Mike 2, Cathy, Bryn, me (the third Mike), Ruth, Pat and Martha. What an enjoyable group of people. Not an abrasive or rude word said by anybody during the entire trip.

Yes, we did take some time (most of it) to look at birds. And, if you know me, plants, insects and whatever struck my fancy.

This is Eric, our guide. I can highly recommend him to anybody what would like to visit Mexico. You can message me for his contact information.

That’s all for now. Tomorrow I’ll post some photos and comments from our first day.

Until then…
