Fool Moon in Ann Arbor last Friday

It’s always fun when the first Friday in April arrives in Ann Arbor because it’s time for Fool Moon. This is an early evening celebration of spring and there is always a theme. This year it was aliens. Kerrytown was filled with booths, performers, music and luminaries.

People dressed up and everybody seemed to be having a lot of fun.

There was a booth with projectors allowing people to dance or just be silly with their projected images.

These luminaries were dominated by fish, a theme from several years ago, and one of my favorites a flamingo.

The girl with lighted hula hoops was there. I think that I have photographs of her going back to at least 2014. At slower shutter speeds the hula hoops turn into a blur of light.

Once it was dark the luminary parade started with all of the luminaries lights on.

The owl, from an earlier bird themed night was one of the highlights.

A ball that somebody had.

The house from Up.

Some aliens and their ships.

The Kerrytown parking lots filled with people.

More tomorrow about Whitefish Point…
