After leaving Whitefish Point this morning we headed to Huron County Michigan to see if we could find the Variegated Flycatcher that has been there for the past ten days.

Sightings have been on Wallace Rd., near Port Austin. Recently they have all been before 9AM or after 3PM. We arrived at the site shortly after 3PM. It took an hour, but…

It finally made an appearance shortly after 4PM. Take about a stray. This bird made it to Michigan from South America.

We were both quite happy starting the day with Snow Buntings from the far north and ending with the flycatcher from the far south.

Afterwords we stopped for dinner in Lapeer making it back to Ann Arbor around the 8:30PM. It was a long day but worth it.
More tomorrow…
Flycatcher from South America? Did you speak Spanish to him/her?
