Slowly emptying the garden for the year

House plants are now back in the house, just before the temperatures dipped below 40F.

Green cherry tomatoes have become green tomato chutney. There’s probably enough to last until next summer.

Last of the Roma tomatoes, slowly ripening and will become a last batch of tomato sauce.

Green chilis that will be dried and jalapeños that will be pickled and canned.

“Maize and blue” flamingoes must belong to Wolverine fans.

Hurray! The Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine goes to the researcher who was able to isolate and reconstruct the Neanderthal genome. This allows people who have genetic testing to determine what part of their genome is Neanderthal.

My friend Megan’s small drawings of skulls now on display in the Creal Microgallery. These are for sale. You should check them out if nearby.

Snoopy first appeared in Peanuts on October 3 1950, so is older than most of the people reading this.

More tomorrow…

  1. I need you to teach me how to grow tomatoes. I get so very few each year. Got some green peppers though, but not nearly as many as you. What’s your trick? Do you give lessons?
