
I just thought that this was a cute cartoon.

If you’re in southeast Michigan get your bivalent booster and mask up when in public places. But this, with the heat was enough to get us to head north.


All the way north on I-75 we passed trailers with tractors. There were a great variety – orange, red, green, yellow and even a white one. All will be crossing the Mackinac Bridge heading to a tractor show in the U.P.

Gas in Gaylord was still close to 30¢ a gallon cheaper than Ann Arbor, unlike Paradise where it was 70¢ more expensive.

We got to King’s in Moran just in time for lunch, which was as usual delicious. Then it was off to Eckerman to see what was at the East Branch of the Tahquamenon River.


As expected, no trout to be seen, but a few interesting plants and insects.

The most interesting insect was a copulating pair of Mountain wingless grasshoppers. A half hour after I took this shot they were still at it.
