Ann Arbor Art Fair, Day-2

We took the kids down to Art Fair again today so that they could see David Zinn do a chalk drawing. We arrived early and the kids enjoyed music with a bubble machine.

David Zinn’s sidewalk art is well known. Since they are done with chalk they are ephemeral, gone with the next rain.

Camilla and Oscar got to meet the artist before he started drawing.

Finally, the story behind drawing and drawing began.

Sluggo is nearly done.

His process of adding elements to make the drawing three-dimensional was interesting to hear.

Sluggo flying out of the sky.

There was a large box of chalk for people to create their own art, and many families did.

Here’s Susan doing her drawing.

I also stopped by Megan’s booth to get some examples of her paintings, which are quite delightful. I have one at our cabin.

Much of Megan’s art is anatomical.

Many of her best pieces are of eyes.

Here’s a painting that Megan did for her TED talk in 2017.

The joy of Art Fair this year was the amazing weather.

More tomorrow…
