Eating out and the garden

Here we are out on the town for our anniversary. Glad that this wonderful woman has put up with me for so many years.

A fun dinner out at Red Hawk. Susan had the martini. I had tequila with grapefruit and more.

Somehow I always find bar photos to be pleasant.

Walked down to Dawn Treader looking for books for the kids/

We even passed a David Zinn piece of sidewalk art on the way to our car.

With the exception of canned products (tomatoes, pickled beans and green tomato chutney) these are the remnants of last years garden. But nothing to worry about as the garden is already starting to provide us with another years treats.

The garlic crop has been amazing. We have 157 heads, many much bigger than last years when we had 113 heads. We have set aside 15 of the largest heads for planting in the fall. It’s a never ending cycle that we enjoy.

With a busy day of shopping taking us past noon we ducked into Dalat, a delightful Vietnamese restaurant that we both highly recommend visiting if you are in Ann Arbor.

On the wall at Dalat – my philosophy in enjoying life.

More tomorrow…

  1. How old are your kids ? I wrote a series of five books for children, about the cat my son had (and I inherited), Miles. Here’s a link to my website about them :

Let me know if you need any more info. The books used to be carried by a few bookshops in town, but Unfortunately for me, they’ve either closed or changed owners. I have a stock of them in my basement though.

Love your fun « blog ».
