October – Books and a visit to the library

I love this glass dragon housed in the children’s section of the library. Photos cannot catch the wonder of this.

Legos are quite important in Alexis’ house as well as Eugene where there are many store that specialize in them. This Redwall Abbey in a case at the library was well done. It was nice watching all of the kids stops and look at it.

Speaking of books. Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast is one that always travels with us when we visit. The largest section of the book is devoted to plants, followed by shrubs and trees, Smaller sections cover grasses, mosses, liverworts and lichens. It’s a great starting point when trying to identify plants here. A guide to the common seaweeds of the west coast is a recent addition that we added when we visited the Yaquina Nature Center. It is a nice primer for learning about these interesting plants.

That’s about it for today. Tomorrow will be our visit to the aquarium.

Until then…

  1. Libraries are COOL! That ‘dragon’ is awesome and I’m wondering what it’s made with. The Toledo Library has amazing features in it’s children’s section = worth a visit!
