Some recent “art”

For years I have spent time drawing and painting. I used to draw and sketch wherever I went. Then starting in the early 2000s I was too busy teaching for drawing. I think that the last drawings that I did were in 2014-6. Then with my neurological condition and meds I completely lost the abilityContinue reading “Some recent “art””

Bearded grass pink in the Florida pan-handle in March. Calypso/Fairy slipper in Mackinac County, Michigan in May. Heart-leaved twayblade in Mackinac County, Michigan in May. I guess that it started with the infamous Black Death – bubonic and pneumonic plague. How many people died? I’veContinue reading “The return of the Pandemic Doctor, in his own words”

Last moth night of 2024?

It was on the morning of 31 October that was checked on the moth trap that was set up the previous evening. The trap was set over one of our garden beds as pictured on the right. The left photo is Susan photographing moths before we released them back into the wild. The interesting thingContinue reading “Last moth night of 2024?”

A garden and some skeletons

Sadly, the garden is done for the year, with the exception of herbs. Each garden got a layer of composted cow manure, then composted soil from our bins at the back fence. I am always amazed at the amount of soil that we get from composting non-weed garden waste and kitchen scraps. We must getContinue reading “A garden and some skeletons”
