The other day we wanted to go to Staples to get some stuff and decided to walk, it’s about 2 – 2.5 miles and by the time we got there and were done it was lunch time and decided to eat at Star’s Cafe. Star’s is a Middle East restaurant that serves wonderful food. We stop there often.

I’m sure that we’ve been going there since 2002, which would have been a terrible time to open a Middle East place due to the events of September, 2001. But we have supported them ever since. If you’re ever looking for a nice place to eat you should consider Star’s.
Now one to some humor.
“My doctor suggested that I eat some nuts are any exercise. The next time that I saw her she asked how things were going and if I was eating nuts after my exercising. I told her yes. She asked what kind. I told her “donuts.”
Then she said since I was getting older I should install a bar in the shower. I sure hope that this was what she had in mind.

Eat well and laugh, the secret to a happy life.
More later…
Ha, ha, so true. Thank you for providing something to laugh about. So right about eating well, it goes back to childhood when cooking and eating delicious food together bonded you for life. My mother was of Italian ancestry and for me, pasta with sauce and meatballs and sausage is comfort food I always turn to. Irreplaceable. Thank you.

My mother and her parents were also Italian. We had pasta at least twice a week, often with meatballs (one per person). I learned to cook watching my grandmother in the kitchen. Now some 70 years later I still make tomato sauce, pasta, I especially like making ravioli, but also make fettuccini, spaghetti, linguini, pappardelle and gnocchi (which takes some experience or else they become potato lumps). I’ve even made lasagna when Susan told me she was making lasagne for dinner but didn’t have any on hand. We have what I call a basic Italian garden, tomatoes, basil, zucchini, butternut squash, green beans and a whole slew of herbs, as well as some hot peppers.
My mother loved my garden enjoying walking out the back door and picking tomatoes. What great memories.
