Valentine’s Day – 2026

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day, and we were traveling from Whitefish Point back to Ann Arbor.

This covers the day perfectly for many people.

Susan showed me snow fleas and I considered that my present.

Our day started with a Common Grackle which is extremely rare in the Upper Peninsula in winter.

The I suggested that we go to see the Bohemian Waxwings at the Dafter Post Office.

Our final interesting bird of the day was a pair of Red Crossbills. I think that the red of the male is an excellent Valentine’s Day bird.

Our day started with 13F at WHitefish Point and ended with 53F in Ann Arbor. An excellent day filled with birds, nice weather and love.

More later…
