When I got up this morning it was a lot warmer than yesterday (47F versus 31F) and while it’s overcast and foggy it’s not raining.
We spent the morning yesterday outside looking at plants and listening to birds. Every year I keep a master list of “living organisms.” Last year I had 666 species of birds, while that’s a rather ominous number from a Christian perspective, it was the most species that I had ever seen. So far this year I’m at 10 species, and I am expecting somewhere around 300-310 species since I have no special trips planned.

Two mystery plants from yesterday. I’ll have to work on identifying them over the next few days.
Tomorrow we’re flying home, but I’m already working on a blog. So, until tomorrow…
The Pacific Northwest winter is so green and temperate. It was very nice to see the photos of what it’s like there. I like keeping lists too, so this year I started a modest checklist for each day: take a walk, sit outside, hear/see birds and animals, sun, snow on ground. To ease into the new year. When I have to work, I ‘ll have to ignore it though. Safe travels returning home!
