Brazil – orchids

Whenever we travel we are always on the lookout for orchids. Typically we are finding terrestrial orchids in Michigan. But once you are in the tropics epiphytic orchids are the norm. Many of the lodges that I visited in Brazil brought orchids in and had them in trees for guests to see. Here are a few that I was tentatively able to identify.

One of the bamboo orchids.

A Cattleya orchid. Perhaps C. intermedia.

One of the cooktown orchids.

One of the Micropetalum orchids.

Two different types of moth orchids.

An Otoglossum orchid.

A tulip orchid.

Possibly Vanda tricolor.

So those were a few of the orchids that I recently photographed in Brazil. There were more, but I haven’t processed all of the photos that I took in Brazil.
