A group of Monk Parakeets nesting under a Jabiru nest.

This was the first time that I’d seen a Plumbeous Kite perched, rather than soaring.

Some 30 years ago I was leading a tour in Mexico and took some of the group around a bend in a river. We missed the Sungrebe while those who stayed at the bend saw it. So it was very gratifying to finally see one and actually get to photography it.

Capuchin Monkey with young overhead.

Black-tailed Marmoset with young.

Planalto Slaty Antshrike barely visible through a tangle of branches.

Red-billed Scythebill after days of attempting to get a photo.

Rufious Casiornis.

Cattle Tyrant.

One of the many Ferruginous Pygmy Owls that we saw in the Pantanal.
One evening, after dinner when it was dark we took a ride searching for night animals. This is what we found.

Crab-eating Raccoon.

Crab-eating Fox.

A closer Crab-eating Fox.

Great Horned Owl.

One of several Tapirs that we saw.
Tomorrow, on to Ubatuba.
