So, recently I am been re-reading the majority of Christopher Moore’s book that I have in my library. The last one that I wrote about ws Sacré Bleu. I thought that I might stay on the blue theme and move on to Coyote Blue.

Coyote Blue starts and ends on a Native American reservation as the main character transitions from his real name to a “White man name” and then back. Another character helping with his life and transition back is Coyote, the Native American trickster god.
Once again Moore transitions from laugh out loud to gasping as you move from one paragraph to the next.
Coming to the end of the blue themed book I went for a book that I seemed to remember was “free-standing,” hah, you’ll see later how that turned out.

With a name like Island of the Sequined Love Nun how could this not be a great book? Well, it didn’t disappoint. The main character Tucker Case, or Tuck was a pilot who lost his license and went to work flying for a doctor/missionary in the South Pacific. The female character works with the doctor collecting kidneys from islanders to sell in Japan. The story also has a filipino navigator, a cannibal, a Polynesian beauty and a giant fruit bat – what not to like. The ending is interesting and ultimately one character re-appears in another book. But I’ll save that for later.
Until next time…
