

Susan had a sheet set for moths and the moth trap set. In the morning I managed to get a few photos of moths after we had breakfast.

This Red-patched emerald was my favorite of the morning.

After eating lunch we went back to the Savannah Wildlife Refuge where we had another fun afternoon. This green anole was one of the few that we saw.

When you’re in the deep south it always is interesting how people are all out looking for alligators. So – here’s a one-off photo of a rather large one.


But we’re down in the south for the birds, plants and insects. The Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler on the left was one of hundreds that we’ve seen so far. The Eastern Phoebe on the right was actively hawking insects.

Finding a pond full of feeding ibises is always a treat. The light-colored ones are WHite Ibises and the darker ones are Glossy Ibises.

A Great Blue Heron and it’s reflection in the setting sun is a fitting was to end the blog for today.

Ponds with birds. Nice. But up here, back in A2, ponds are floating with dead geese and ducks. It’s getting bad.
