Yesterday we traveled from Whitefish Point to Ann Arbor. The first half of the trip was extremely windy. In fact there were issues crossing the Mackinac Bridge. Maximum speed was 20 mph with flashers on and only the right lane was being used, as the wind was out of the west. From the toll booth to the bridge there was so much blowing snow that it was hard to see anything. Aside from that the drive to Ann Arbor was a breeze. Now, on to some recent drawings/

I’m a big fan of flamingoes. So I thought that I’d draw one.

Over the years I’ve spent a lot of time looking at lichens. Pixie cups are members of the genus Caledonia a delightful group of small lichens that max out at about 25-30 mm tall.

So, who doesn’t like dinosaurs – this is a triceratops, a favorite of many kids.

Even bacteria get viruses. This bacteriophage is a virus that attacks and destroys bacteria. So you can think of it as a viral friend.

I’m a big fan of Snoopy and Woodstock so you can expect a lot of sketches of them in the future.

The Pandemic Doctor has been my friend for years. I have a whole folder of photos that I took during the main pandemic years (2020-2022). In some respects he was a silent friend.

Finally, a bird – a Pheasant Cuckoo. A large ground cuckoo that I know from the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
More later.
