Some recent art, part-2

My goal for the year is to spend more time drawing and painting. So, in an effort to achieve this I started drawing in a sketchbook, no painting yet. For the next two days, our last at Whitefish Point and a travel day I’ll post a few of the recent sketches.

Garganoris bellmanni, a giant goose from when the Gargano Peninsula was a distinct island before becoming part of Italy.

Dodo, what else can I say other than I have been on a bit of extinct animal phase.

Brontotherium, also extinct.

This is perhaps my favorite bird, a Harpy Eagle. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing a large fledgling on a nest in the Darien of Panama.

A Black-capped Chickadee, a common but delightful bird.

A ceratopsian dinosaur.

A Douglas fir cone, just a favorite conifer cone and tree.

More tomorrow…
