On our daily walks I often find something that is either new for me for the year, or an interesting observation.

This evergreen bagworm cocoon was not new for me in any respect. But was interesting was finding it in a deciduous tree rather than an evergreen, which was strange. The moth had obviiously pupated so was successful.

As snow was melting the other day we found a spot that had exposed a lot of shrew trails. These were most likely made by short-tailed shrews which are common in our neighborhood in Ann Arbor.

Finally, a Physcia lichen, while I am not sure of the species, it is a new one for the year.
That’s all for now, more later…
