Finally, a small push in passerines at Whitefish Point. We had 12 species of warblers, 2 vireos, 2 flycatchers and a sparrow. Also the Great-tailed Grackle continues to be seen at the point.
Warblers included: Nashville, Myrtle, Yellow, Blackburnian, Common Yellowthroat, Magnolia, Tennessee, Black-throated Green, Canada, Orange-crowned and Wilson’s. Vireos were Red-eyed and Philadelphia. Flycatchers were Least and Yellow-bellied. And finally a Lincoln’s Sparrow.

It’s funny how when a rarity, in this case a first state record for Great-tailed Grackle shows up the number of birders increases dramatically.

An American Goldfinch.

One (or both) of the two Philadephia Vireos that were in a flock of birds at Memory Lane near the lighthouse.

Yellow Warbler.

A very cooperative Wilson’s Warbler.

An American Copper, our first of the season.
