Book review of the month

Typically, I’d rather be reading science-fiction but I had seen this book at Literati twice. Needing something to read I decided to get it, what could I lose? Anyway, a book with a cover having a female orc in a coffee shop with treats couldn’t be all that bad – right?

Well, was I wrong – it was excellentI

The orc, Viv was a retiring adventurer who wanted to open a coffee shop. The other woman on the cover is Tandri, a succubus who Viv hired to work with her.

The layout of the novel is a typical D&D adventure. You collect team members that fill the needs that you have to accomplish a goal, which in this case all revolves around the coffee shop. The book runs through the many misadventures, disasters and achievements that occurred along the way.

Having read the book I’ve decided it’s time to read the author’s second book and see how it holds up.

I’ll let you all know how it goes.

More later…
